Our Method

To allow, in a CCUS perspective, a physical tracking and certification of captured CO2, by chemical tagging

Our Approach

OUR METHOD OF CHEMICAL MARKING OF CAPTURED CO2 LOTS COVERS ALL STAGES OF THE CO2 TRANSPORT CHAIN, BOTH FOR ITS PERMANENT STORAGE AND FOR ITS UTILIZATION AS A RESOURCE…

Traceability is essential in the trust industry, which involves responsibilities, insurance, and significant financial transactions. This is the case for CCUS value chains.

We are developing CO2track, a chemical traceability method for CO2 batches. This method is part of a broader approach that incorporates different levels of complementary traceability :

  1. DOCUMENTARY TRACK : the initial level primarily identifying the producer, capture methods, initial characteristics, logistics, and final destination.
  2. METROLOGICAL TRACK : this complementary level characterizes the transport conditions of the batches, such as pressure and temperature values per unit volume or flow rate (carbopipe), as well as data acquired through IoT devices and specific measurements during transport.
  3. QUALITATIVE TRACK : This module allows documentation of the quality and characteristics of the transported CO2, its degree of purity and, if necessary, the profile of impurities that constitute its signature.
  4. CO2TRACK : original chemical tagging provides fiduciary proof attached to each tagged batch, even after any blending, particularly regarding the original nature of the carbon or any blends, thus guaranteeing the transaction of carbon quotas or compliance with specifications and regulations.

These complementary approaches are integrated into a system and platform using blockchain and interoperable secure ledgers, ensuring the tracking of batches from their capture to their final location for sequestration and/or use, and allow the enrichment of this information in a totally secure context.
